Graph of the Heart

I am interested in the limitations of painting, the impossibility of expressing the complexity of the world onto a physical 2d plane. In this work architectural drawings and notations become abstracted into choroegraphed dances. Through the process of exploring technical drawings and gestural painting I create complex landscapes and ask where it is that freedom truly lies. Multiple images are layered as structures continuously emerge and become lost,  through this confusion the paintings gain the energy of having no end, of continuing to question even after they are finished.  As and architect and a dancer I want to understand the place where logic, structure, freedom and expression meet because for me this is a mystical place where unknown things come into being.
